Welcome to a safe place where children will be shown love and care in a Christian environment. We are a Star 4 Center which has been in operation since 1978 and licensed through the Department of Public Welfare.
Our Philosophy
We know parents would love to be home caring for their own children or prefer a family member providing care for them; but we live in a society where everyone is working. So we chose the theme Noah's Ark because in the Bible that was a safe place in the time of a storm.
And in the time when the family is in the middle of the storm, we want to provide a safe place for children. We want to be a lifeline and help families bring their children safely home.
We believe parents are an important part of every child's experience in our program - that they are their child's "first teacher." Parents are welcome in the program at any time to observe or participate. We will work with parents regularly to ensure that their child is having the most positive experience possible at Grace Assembly.
As educators we believe that all children are intrinsically motivated to learn and have an innate curiosity about the world around them. We provide opportunities to think, imagine, build and grow as children develop at their won individual paces. We strongly believe that a child's work is his or her play and that he or she learns most effectively through a play-oriented approach of which concrete, hands-on activities are the focus of our daily curriculum.
Our curriculum fosters a caring and learning environment for each child by providing opportunities for socialization, positive emotional growth, the development of fine and gross motor skills, language development, and reading and math readiness.
Mission Statement
To Provide a safe place where children can be taught the 3 R's: to be Respectful, Resourceful, and Responsible in a caring, Christian atmosphere.
Enrollment Policy
Because God's unqualified loved extends to all children, Grace Assembly Daycare admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally afforded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
Confidentiality
We respect and safeguard the privacy of our families by using the information in a confidential, professional and responsible way. Staff is never to discuss sensitive information about a child or family with or in front of the children, other parents, non-involved staff, or the general community.
Discipline
A smile, a statement, and a touch should recognize positive behaviors in children. The classroom is organized to promote positive behaviors through room arrangement, routines and procedures, and consistent expectations and methods of limit setting. Removing a child from the situation would solve most situations concerning discipline. Harsh verbal or physical treatment of a child is not permitted. We expect our teachers to promote a Christian environment by being keenly aware of individual needs of their children and responding to those needs. When a child demonstrates behavior that is unsuitable for the center, you may be asked to come in for a conference.
Safety
A safe and healthy environment for children, families, and staff is assured through careful selection, use and maintenance of materials, furnishings, equipment, and training (e.g. first aid and CPR).
